How to measure your mood
Introducing your Mood Scales
How to use the scales
Write down all the things that have happened today that affected how you feel. Be sure to include the good things as well as the bad.
Rate each one on whether the event had a positive or negative effect. Consider as well how big of an impact it had.
Events that are negative are stressors
Events that are positive are de-stressors.
Now draw each event onto the scales. Negative things on the left hand bad side, positive things on the right hand good side.
As you draw, use size and colour to show their impact.
Have you got more on the right than left?
How big an impact are these things/ how far does the weight of them sink the scales?
Does this accurately show how your day was?
Now consider how you can get more things on the right to have a bigger positive effect on your day / tomorrow.
In some earlier blogs I wrote articles on Negative Thinking and Ways to Change that, which might help you tip the balance for the better!
